New passports are received by the Embassy about six to eight weeks from the time applications are electronically forwarded to the Philippines.
As soon as the Embassy receives your new passport, you will be contacted via your mobile number, landline number or email address. Please make sure to enter them correctly or write them legibly in the application form.
Basic Requirements
- Original payment receipt
- Original ID
- Current Philippine passport, if not yet canceled (to be canceled and returned to the passport owner)
Note: The new passport will NOT be released if the old passport is not presented for cancellation.
Additional requirements if applicant is unable to claim their passport
If passport will be claimed by an immediate family member (parent, sibling, spouse, child of legal age)
- Signed authorization letter
- Valid ID (original and photocopy) of the passport owner
- Valid ID (original and photocopy) of the family member
If passport will be claimed by an authorized representative other than an immediate family member
- Original signed Special Power of Attorney executed by the applicant, issued to the authorized representative
- Valid ID (original and photocopy) of the passport owner
- Valid ID (original and photocopy) of the representative
For minor applicants
- If passport will be claimed by mother, claimant must present original DFA issued receipt and valid ID
- If passport will be claimed by father, claimant must present original DFA issued receipt, valid ID and PSA documents indicating proof of parental authority over the minor
If you wish for your new passport to be mailed to your present residence address instead of directly claiming it at the Embassy, provide the following when lodging your application
- Current Philippine passport (to be canceled and returned to the passport owner)
- A self-addressed, registered-mail envelope (preferably bubble-wrap envelopes) with the correct type and number of stamps and with tracking number
Note: The new passport will NOT be released if any of the above requirements is not presented.
Other reminders
Please affix your signature on the appropriate space (page 3) immediately upon receipt of the new ePassport, to avoid problems at the entry and exit points when traveling abroad.
ePassports unclaimed after six (6) months will be cancelled, per Department Order No. 37-03.
