The Bagong Bayani Foundation, Inc. (BBFI) announces the search for outstanding and exemplary Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to be recognized during the 2023 Bagong Bayani Awards (BBA) on 23 August 2023, where President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. will be the Guest of Honor.
BFFI is a non-stock, non-profit organization founded in 1989 to promote recognition and appreciation of the role of Overseas Filipinos Workers in the Philippine society and economy, and to promote their welfare. The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) are members of the Foundation, together with private sector representatives from both the land-based and sea-based sectors. The Secretary of DMW sits as Honorary Chairperson of the Foundation while the Administrator of OWWA sit as Honorary member of the Board of Trustees.
The Bagong Bayani Awards (BBA) pays tribute to the country’s outstanding OFWs for their significant efforts in fostering goodwill among peoples of the world, enhancing the image of the Filipino as a competent and responsible worker, and contributing to the nation’s foreign exchange earnings.
