14 May 2024, Brussels - Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda opened the 60 Years of PH-EU Relations: A Tapestry of Friendship photo exhibit together with European External Action Service (EEAS) Secretary General Stefano Sannino. The exhibit, organized by the Philippine Mission to the EU and the EEAS, showcases significant milestones in PH-EU relations spanning six decades of partnership and cooperation.
Among the photos on display is a photo of Philippine Ambassador Vicente Singian presenting his credentials to European Economic Community (EEC) Commission President Walter Hallstein, effectively establishing diplomatic ties between the Philippines and the precursor to the present-day European Union, on 12 May 1964.
The exhibit also features seventeen (17) photos on the Philippines’ unique identity as an archipelago and its maritime heritage.
