Audiences in Luxembourg and Ghent watch "Tanabata's Wife" on 25 June 2024 and 28 June 2024, respectively.

The Philippine Embassy in Brussels, Belgium capped off its Independence Day events with film showings in Luxembourg City on 25 June 2024, and in Ghent on 28 June 2024.

"Tanabata's Wife" (2018, directed by Lito Casaje, Charlson L. Ong and Choy Pangilinan) is based on a short story by Filipino writer Sinai Hamada. It tells the story of a Japanese immigrant farmer in La Trinidad, Benguet, who falls in love and marries a young Bontoc woman.

On behalf of Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda and the officers and staff of the Embassy, Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Pablito A. Mendoza thanked the Filipino communities in Belgium and Luxembourg, and the Embassy's Belgian and Luxembourgish friends who attended the screenings, and expressed the hope that more film showings could be organized in the future.
