PH EMBASSY IN BRUSSELS CONDUCTS ONE-STOP SHOP FOR CONSULAR, MWO AND VIRTUAL PAG-IBIG SERVICES IN LUXEMBOURG
The Philippine Embassy in Brussels, Belgium and the Migrant Workers’ Office in Berlin during the One-Stop Shop for Consular, MWO and Virtual Pag-IBIG Services at the EY Building in Kirchberg, Luxembourg, 21-22 September 2024.
The Philippine Embassy in Brussels, Belgium conducted its One-Stop Shop for Consular, Migrant Workers Office, and Virtual Pag-IBIG Services in Luxembourg on 21 and 22 September 2024.
Led by Consul General Pablito A. Mendoza and Vice Consul Ma. Filonila Alcaraz-Arguelles, and in cooperation with Mr. Alain Kinsch, Philippine Honorary Consul General in Luxembourg, the Embassy’s consular section provided consular services to clients residing in Luxembourg, including passport renewal, civil registration, visa inquiries, NBI fingerprinting, and legalization of documents.
The Embassy also conducted field registration for Overseas Voting for the 2025 National Elections.
Labor Attaché Delia Palomar was present to provide the services of the Migrant Workers Office in Berlin, which has jurisdiction over Luxembourg.
Finally, representatives from the Pag-IBIG Office, headed by Accounts Specialist Kristoffer Bryan Sia, rendered their services virtually via video conferencing with individual clients.
All in all, 65 clients were served during the One-Stop Shop.
The Embassy also met with representatives of the Filipino community in Luxembourg to discuss various concerns.
Delegation from the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Trade and Industry and the Philippine Coconut Authority visit Brussels for meetings with the European Commission
A delegation from the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) visited Brussels from 11 to 13 September 2024 and met with the European Commission's Directorate General for Trade and the Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development to discuss and exchange views of various EU regulations affecting agri-food products.
The delegation also met with the Committee Linking Entrepreneurship-Agriculture Development (COLEAD - a non-profit European organization that supports sustainable agricultural value chains and offers expertise in enhancing agricultural practices, ensuring compliance with European standards, and facilitating market access for products) and the European Vegetable Oil and Proteinmeal industry (FEDIOL - an organization representing European vegetable oil and protein meal sector that plays a key role in advocating for industry interests, food safety standards, and sustainable practices within the EU market) to discuss the EU regulations (particularly the EU Deforestation Regulation) and to advocate for Philippine coconut and coconut-derived products.
Ambassador Ledda Visits KU Leuven - Brugge Officials for Possible Collaboration with PH Universities
Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda met with Professor Pieter Rauwoens and his team at the Catholic University of Leuven-Brugge Campus (KU Leuven-Brugge) on 4 September 2024 to explore possible cooperation/collaboration between the KU-Leuven-Brugge and Philippine universities on research, coastal engineering, and geotechnics.
Ambassador Ledda was accompanied by Honorary Consul in Flanders Ronny De Blaere and Cultural Attaché Virginia T. Abad.
Ambassador Ledda Visits University of Luxembourg Officials, Discusses Potential Avenues for Cooperation

On 03 September 2024, Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda, accompanied by Ms. Sorhaya P. Dilabakun, Philippine Embassy Attaché, met with members of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) of the University of Luxembourg, headed by Dr. Carlo Duprel, Head of SnT Technology Transfer Office, for possible collaboration on potential future projects. The Ambassador and team from SnT discussed the work of the university in smart energy markets and space technology that may be of interest to the Philippines.
The visit to the University of Luxembourg concluded with a tour of the Space Lab, the university's interdisciplinary research initiative dedicated to space-related technology and innovation.
