EMBASSY MEETS WITH FILIPINO COMMUNITY LEADERS IN LUXEMBOURG

Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda and officials from the Philippine Embassy in Brussels, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Brussels, and the Migrant Workers’ Office in Berlin, which has jurisdiction over Luxembourg, met with Filipino community leaders in Luxembourg on 15 September 2023.
Ambassador Ledda thanked the leaders for the projects they initiated for the benefit of Filipinos in Luxembourg and the Philippines. He also briefed the community on the Embassy’s engagements with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs as well as Luxembourgish businesses and non-governmental organizations. In an open forum, the Embassy clarified the community leaders’ questions related to consular matters, importation of Philippine goods, and assistance for Overseas Filipino Workers.
Ambassador Ledda assured the community leaders that the Embassy remains committed to supporting and being of service to the Filipino community in Luxembourg.

Macaspac, CHAMP Cargosystems Chief People Officer Agathe Domon, Commercial Counsellor Magnolia Misolas-Ashley, CHAMP Cargosystems Chief Executive Officer Chris McDermott, Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda, and CHAMP Cargosystems Chief Financial Officer Edward Kemp met at the company’s headquarters in Luxembourg on 15 September 2023 to discuss CHAMP’s further operational expansion in the Philippines.
Luxembourgish company CHAMP Cargosystems has its largest overseas office in the Philippines, offering the most comprehensive range of integrated IT solutions in the air cargo industry.
Chamber of Commerce Luxembourg (CCL) CEO/Director-General Carlo Thelen, Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda, and Cargolux Airlines Senior Manager for Government and Industry Relations Patrick Jeanne met at the headquarters of CCL on 15 September 2023.
Cargolux Airlines is Europe’s biggest all-cargo airline with a fleet of Boeing 747 freighters. The company has more than 85 offices in 50 countries. It won as “Best All Cargo Airlines” for four consecutive years as chosen by readers of trade magazine Air Cargo News.
The Chamber of Commerce Luxembourg marked its 180th anniversary in 2021. It is the official spokesperson for 90,000 companies representing 75% of salaried employment and 80% of the Grand Duchy’s GDP. The Chamber also organizes economic trade missions to selected countries.

Philippine Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg Jaime Victor B. Ledda, together with other officials from the Philippine Embassy in Brussels, met with Atty. Francois Prum, President of the Luxembourgish NGO Coopération Humanitaire Luxembourg (CHL), and Ms. Véronique Dockendorf, Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg, on 15 September 2023.
Commercial Counsellor Magnolia Misolas-Ashley, Coopération Humanitaire Luxembourg (CHL) President Francois Prum, Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda, and First Secretary and Consul Charles Andrei P. Macaspac met at the CHL headquarters in Luxembourg on 15 September 2023 to discuss possible collaboration between the NGO and the Philippine government.
CHL has been working with CAMELEON Philippines since 2010 to provide shelter as well as psychosocial and legal support for girls who are victims of sexual abuse in Passi City, Iloilo and Silay City, Negros Occidental. The organization receives most of its funding from the government of Luxembourg.
