On 18 February 2025, the ASEAN Brussels Committee (ABC) held a working lunch for Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), hosted by H.E. Soe Lynn Han, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

The ABC and GCC Ambassadors affirmed the strong and dynamic relations between the two regions, highlighting the flourishing economic cooperation and deep history of people-to-people ties. The two sides recalled the historic meeting of leaders at the first ASEAN-GCC Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in October 2023, resulting in the Framework of Cooperation covering 2024 to 2028.

The ABC and GCC Ambassadors further exchanged views on geopolitical issues of the day, reiterating their commitment to promoting regional and global peace, security, and prosperity. They also shared information and experiences in their engagements with European institutions, resolving to maintain regular exchange and contact moving forward.
