PH Embassy in Brussels Hosts Afterwork Networking Event
The Philippine Embassy in Brussels hosted an afterwork networking cocktail for colleagues in the EU institutions, Belgian government agencies and the diplomatic community.
The event served as a venue for colleagues to interact after work in a more casual setting, while enjoying Filipino street food favorites, desserts, cocktails and juices. Some of the food served were kwek-kwek, lechon kawali, tuna sisig, okoy, lumpia, chicken adobo rice toppings, ube halaya balls and turon with langka.
The food was prepared by Calamansi Restaurant, Filipino-Belgian chef Glen Remaekers and Filipino pastry chef Aaron Ponce.
Afterward, guests took home hand-crafted Philippine cacao chocolate bars by Belgian chocolatier Elisabetta Passafaro.
“Through the afterwork networking event, we promoted the Philippines as a source of sustainable and heritage products with unique, fun, diverse and vibrant flavors”, said Philippine Ambassador to Belgium, H.E. Jaime Victor B. Ledda. “We likewise showcased the rising stars of agriculture in Europe – calamansi, cacao, pili nuts and ube – as well as the Philippines’ top food exports to Europe – tuna, seafood and coconuts”, he added.
The event was sponsored by the Office of the Agriculture Attaché in Brussels.
