Brussels PE Conducts One-Stop Shop for Consular, MWO, SSS and Virtual Pag-IBIG Services
The Philippine Embassy in Brussels conducted a One-Stop Shop for Consular, MWO, SSS and Virtual Pag-IBIG Services on 17 May 2024 at the Philippine Embassy in Brussels, and on 18 May 2024 at the Antwerp Harbor Hotel in Antwerp.
Joining the Embassy were representatives from the Migrant Workers Office in Berlin (MWO-Berlin), the Social Security System in London, and (virtually) the Pag-IBIG Fund representatives in Manila.
The Embassy’s consular section provided a total of twenty (20) consular services to clients, including passport renewal, civil registration, legalization of documents, and overseas voter registration for the 2025 National Elections.
Officer-in-Charge Delia Palomar, Welfare Officer Sylvia Gabriel, and administrative staff Ms. Elena Querijero and Ms. Joyce Ann Lorenzo from MWO-Berlin certified work contracts of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and met with OFWs in distress to provide assistance and information on the programs of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
Ms. Lydia Cabagnot, Foreign Representative from the Social Security System in London, flew in to provide services such as the reactivation and record verification for existing members, and to answer inquiries on SSS benefits.
Pag-IBIG Fund representatives in Manila joined the outreach virtually to respond to inquiries on loans and membership records.
The One-Stop Shop brought the services of the Philippine government closer to Filipinos in Belgium.

14 May 2024, Brussels - Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda opened the 60 Years of PH-EU Relations: A Tapestry of Friendship photo exhibit together with European External Action Service (EEAS) Secretary General Stefano Sannino. The exhibit, organized by the Philippine Mission to the EU and the EEAS, showcases significant milestones in PH-EU relations spanning six decades of partnership and cooperation.
Coro Filipino Performs at the EU Open Day
The 7-member Coro Filipino performed during the EU Open Day on 4 May 2024 at the European External Action Service (EEAS). The Philippines was the finale of the artistic performances from all over the world. Other performing countries included the Western Balkans, Colombia, Ukraine, Sub-Saharan Africa, Guatemala, Georgia, Japan, Moldova, Nepal, and the Middle East and North Africa.
Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda was present to introduce the members of the Coro Filipino – Mr. Joren Alutaya, Mr. Eugene de Castro, Ms. Madeleine Denopra, Mr. Cipriano De Guzman, Jr., Ms. Carla Joyce Laureano, Mr. Jomarie Mundas, and Ms. Janine Patricia Santos. Ambassador Ledda was joined on stage by Ms. Paola Pampaloni, EEAS Deputy Managing Director for Asia Pacific, and Ms. Leila Fernandez-Stembridge, Head of Division for Asia Pacific.
Embassy Holds Bagong Pilipinas Town Hall Meeting with Members of the Filipino Community
The Philippine Embassy held a town hall meeting on Saturday, 27 April 2024, to apprise the Filipino community of the Bagong Pilipinas concept. The meeting was led by Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda, Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Pablito A. Mendoza, and Third Secretary and Vice Consul Ma. Filonila T. Alcaraz-Arguelles.
An overview of the Bagong Pilipinas concept, the characteristics of the bagong Pilipino, and the Bagong Pilipinas concept of government were highlighted. To these ends, the Embassy's upcoming activities - celebrations of Philippine and bilateral relations milestones, consular missions/outreaches, and cultural activities will be organized with the Bagong Pilipinas concept at the center of these activities.
The Filipino community voiced its support for the Bagong Pilipinas concept.
